The largest Ukrainian manufacturer of eyeglass cases, Private Production & Trade Enterprise "Acropolis", will present its products for the first time at the Optical Fair “Silmo” in Paris. On this occasion, the designers of the company, together with the master of Ukrainian decorative and ornamental folk painting, developed and released a new series «Petrykivka Painting» of unique cases for spectacles and sunglasses.
These exclusive leather and wooden cases decorated with paintings will be shown to the public for the first time at Silmo 2023.
The new Aсropolis series "Petrykivka Painting" is presented with natural leather and wooden cases, that are made by experienced craftsmen. In the leather cases, it`s just the seams, that are made on the sewing machine, and in wooden items – it`s just the logo, that is engraved by laser. All other production operations are performed manually.
The leather case has a 5-layer construction of natural leather, velour, metal, and 2 cardboard layers. Inside, there is a soft velvet lining that protects very carefully the frames and lenses from scratches. It closes with a magnetic clasp.
The wooden case is made of walnut wood. Inside, it is decorated with natural leather, which creates a "velvet" effect and carefully protects the glasses from dirt and sand. The case closes with a brass clasp, which does not oxidize under the influence of high humidity. The entire surface of the product is protected by a waxy ecological mastic. This protects it from mechanical damage and gives it a gloss.
When the case is ready, the craftswoman artist paints on it Ukrainian Ornaments in the style of "Petrykivka Painting" (a traditional Ukrainian decorative painting style from the 18th century, that continues to thrive and develop as a modern art form), and turns it into a real "Work of Art".
The distinctive features of this folk art style are its patterns and distinctive brush techniques. Each case is unique because it is hand-painted with a brush and special paints. Pattern`s color, size, and design may vary. At the heart of painted colorful patterns from various flowers and fruits, lies an unspeakable huge love of Ukrainians to their native land - Ukraine!
